Wind slabs in the high Alpine regions.
Wind slabs in the high Alpine regions.
In some localities light snowfall at low altitude: The avalanche danger will persist. Old wind slabs are to be found adjacent to ridgelines and in gullies and bowls and generally in the high Alpine regions. They can be released, in particular by large loads. There is a danger of falling on the icy crust.
Above approximately 1500 m snow will fall in some localities. The wind slabs are to be found especially adjacent to ridgelines and in gullies and bowls. The surface of the snowpack will freeze to form a strong crust.
