NC for 29.03.22. Old snowpack firm and stable. New shallow deposits on SE,S,SW, W aspects above 900m. Avalanche hazard Low.

Forecast Snow Stability: The old snowpack will refreeze becoming very firm and stable. New snow amounts are not expected to be great with any unstable deeper accumulations mostly avoidable and on South-East to South-Westerly aspects above 900 metres. A general dusting of new snow will cover terrain at lower elevations. The avalanche hazard will be Low.

Snowpack Structure

Forecast Weather Influences: Winds will be light to moderate strength North to Easterly. Precipitation falling as light snow showers around summit levels during Tuesday morning, then above 400 metres by the end of the day. Observed Weather Influences: Mostly clear and sunny, dry and warm with light Northerly winds. More cloudy in the afternoon. ObservedSnowStability: The snowpack is well bonded and stable throughout. Soft on mostly sun exposed slopes. On shaded Northerly slopes the snowpack remains firm. Drooping cornices are unstable with a threat of collapse, these overhang many slopes. Glide cracks high on East to South aspects continue to widen but are a limited threat. The avalanche hazard is Low.
