Forecast Snow Stability: Areas of unstable windslab will be found in steeper, wind sheltered locations above 900 metres. Deepest windslab will be around corrie rims and in gully tops, mainly on North-West through North to East aspects. Westerly aspects will also see new accumulations developing later in this period. Pockets of moderately bonded snow may also be encountered elsewhere in steep sheltered locations. Snow cover will thaw at lower levels. The avalanche hazard will be Moderate.
Forecast Weather Influences: A dry start with some fluctuation in the freezing level, sleet and snow showers developing in the afternoon. Winds will be moderate throughout. Observed Weather Influences: Snow showers at all levels throughout this period. Winds have mostly been light but strengthened from the South-West during the day. ObservedSnowStability: Unstable windslab persists around steeper wind sheltered features on some North-West but mainly North to East aspects above 900 metres. Deepest areas are mainly around corrie rims and in gully exits. Elsewhere there are deeper drifts in lee locations but mostly a shallow covering of dry light snow. Old snow was very firm and icy. The avalanche hazard is Moderate.
