In sintesi

The weather conditions will give rise to increasing consolidation of the snowpack in particular above the tree line. Mostly small gliding avalanches are possible as the temperature drops.

Avalanche Activity

The weather conditions will give rise to increasing consolidation of the snowpack in particular above the tree line. Mostly small gliding avalanches are possible as the temperature drops.

Decrease in danger of moist avalanches as the temperature drops. The old wind slabs are easy to recognise and can only be released in isolated cases. This applies in particular on extremely steep slopes especially above approximately 2000 m.

Snowpack Structure

As a consequence of rising temperatures and solar radiation a crust formed on the surface. This applies in particular on steep slopes below approximately 2200 m. Old wind slabs have bonded well with the old snowpack in all aspects. Below approximately 1400 m only a little snow is lying. The snowpack is largely stable.

Tendency

As a consequence of falling temperatures the snowpack will consolidate. On Friday it will be mild. The weather conditions will foster a rise in the avalanche danger in particular on very steep sunny slopes.
