Forecast Snow Stability: The snowpack will continue to thaw and consolidate on all aspects and at all levels, and stability will generally be good. Any remaining cornices will be prone to collapse. The avalanche hazard will be Low.

Snowpack Structure

Forecast Weather Influences: South-South-Westerly winds will be strong during the evening, then easing to moderate. The freezing level will remain above all summits. Light rain, mainly overnight, is expected at all levels during the period. Observed Weather Influences: It was a mild day with the freezing level above all summits. After a mainly dry morning there was some light rain at all levels during the afternoon. Winds were moderate generally Southerly. ObservedSnowStability: During the morning there were some minor instabilities in the recently deposited windslab lying mainly on North-West to North-East aspects above 950 metres. These were consolidating in the mild conditions. Overall the snowpack is thawing and consolidating, and stability is generally good. Any remaining cornices are prone to collapse. The avalanche hazard is Low.
