In sintesi

The new snow represents the main danger.

Avalanche Activity

The new snow represents the main danger.

On slopes and above approximately 1800 m the avalanche danger is considerable (level 3). The natural avalanche activity will gradually increase. The avalanche prone locations are to be found in particular in north to northeast to northwest facing aspects above approximately 1500 m. Medium-sized natural avalanches are possible in all aspects.

Snowpack Structure

The new snow is lying on the unfavourable surface of an old snowpack on steep shady slopes above approximately 1600 m. Faceted weak layers exist deeper in the snowpack on steep shady slopes. Weak layers in the old snowpack necessitate caution. Above approximately 1500 m snow depths vary greatly, depending on the infuence of the wind.
