Forecast Snow Stability: Accumulations of moderately bonded windslab will build on steep wind sheltered terrain, mainly West through North to North-East aspects above 750 metres. Gully exits, ridge flanks and scarp slopes will mostly be affected. Elsewhere, the snowpack will have generally good stability with well consolidated firm old snow. The avalanche hazard will be Moderate.

Snowpack Structure

Forecast Weather Influences: Overnight rain with snow above 800 metres will ease into showers through the day, snow above 450 metres as the freezing level lowers to around 500 metres by dawn. Light South winds will veer and strengthen South-East overnight, moderating later, becoming light North by end of the forecast period. Observed Weather Influences: Cloudy with occasional snow showers, rain below 650 metres. Light to moderate Westerly airflow. Freezing level around 750 metres. ObservedSnowStability: There is a covering of new snow on all aspects mostly above 650 metres. Areas of moderately bonded windslab are present on steep terrain, mainly North-East through East to South aspects generally above 800 metres. Elsewhere, the snowpack has generally good stability with well consolidated old snow. The avalanche hazard is Moderate.
