Moderate southwest winds have built deeper slabs on northwest through north to southeast-facing slopes at mid and upper elevations. If the snow becomes stiff enough to barely make an impression on the surface, it may take finding a thinner portion of the slab to trigger an avalanche. Hard slabs of snow can break above you on the slope and wider than you expect. Be wary traveling on or below slopes around 35 degrees where the wind is dropping the new snow.
