In sintesi

The early snowpack is mostly stable. At the highest elevations, skiers and riders venturing into very steep, wind loaded terrain might be able to trigger an isolated pocket of shallow soft slab. Exercise normal caution, and be aware of shallow snowpack hazards.

Avalanche Discussion

( Discussion is generated from the previous day's afternoon forecast. )Cloud cover will increase tonight as a minor disturbance moves into the area and brings a chance for light, scattered snowfall. Overnight lows in the mountains will be in the mid-teens before rising to near 20 in the afternoon. Southwesterly to westerly ridgetop winds will increase overnight to 20 to 30 miles per hour before veering to the northwest and decreasing to 10 to 20 during the day.Increasing winds overnight may transport available snow onto high elevation, leeward starting zones. However, the absence of significant buried weak layers of faceted snow is expected to keep the general avalanche hazard Low. Up there, skiers and riders venturing into very steep, wind loaded terrain might be able to trigger an isolated pocket of soft slab. Exercise normal caution, and be aware of shallow snowpack hazards.
