Avalanche Activity

Forecast Snow Stability: The patchy old snowpack will be firm and stable. What remains lies mainly around coire rims, steep slopes and at the tops of gullies above 950 metres on North to East aspects. A general dusting of new snow above 900m by the end of the day. Any new windslab development will be thin, limited in extent and confined to steep North East to South East aspects above 1000m. The avalanche hazard will be Low

Forecast Weather Influences: Dry, cold conditions overnight and for most of the morning followed by some light snow showers. Light Westerly winds becoming much stronger later. Observed Weather Influences: Dry and cold with light variable winds. ObservedSnowStability: The sparse old snowpack is firm and stable. It lies mainly around coire rims, on steep upper slopes and at the tops of gullies above 950 metres on North to East aspects. The greatest extent lies around Coire Ardair. Snow cover on the Creag Meagaidh summit plateau is quite patchy. The avalanche hazard is Low
