Tendency

The weather will be cloudy. Over a wide area rain below approximately 2000 m.

Avalanche Activity

As the moisture increases the avalanche prone locations will become more prevalent.

Wet and gliding avalanches are possible. The avalanche danger should be investigated very thoroughly in the relevant locality. The avalanche prone locations are to be found in particular at the base of rock walls, and adjacent to ridgelines and in gullies and bowls. Places where weaknesses exist in the old snowpack are especially precarious. The avalanches can be released in deep layers of the snowpack.

Snowpack Structure

Snow cover and thickness vary greatly depending on exposure and altitude, and are steadily decreasing. Weather conditions will mean the snowpack will remain saturated in many areas. Over a wide area a little snow is lying on south facing slopes. Weak layers exist in the snowpack in particular on shady slopes.
