Forecast Snow Stability: Shallow accumulations of localised fresh windslab will start to develop during the latter part of the day on East and South-East aspects above 1000 metres. Greatest instabilities will be found in deep accumulations in steep wind sheltered locations especially where overlying the existing snowpack. Coire rims and gully tops will be most affected. The old snowpack will start to refreeze and will become firm and icy. Small cornices will start to build. The avalanche hazard will be Moderate.

Forecast Weather Influences: Initially dry before precipitation arrives during the morning. This will fall as snow down to around 600 metres during the late afternoon. Very strong winds, reaching gale force at times, will be from the South-West before easing and veering to the North later in the day. The freezing level will lower to 600 metres from noon. Observed Weather Influences: Mild through the evening and into the day with the summit temperature reading 2.8 degrees at noon. Mainly dry with some afternoon sunshine and strong winds from the West. ObservedSnowStability: The existing snowpack is consolidating in the mild temperatures. Instabilities are present in deep accumulations on mainly East aspects above 1000 metres. Elsewhere, the snowpack is soft in nature but is generally stable. Cornices remain on some aspects. Snow loss at lower elevations, where cover was thin or exposed to the sun. The avalanche hazard is Moderate.
