As the precipitation becomes more intense medium-sized and, in isolated cases, large dry and wet avalanches are to be expected. In particular on wind-loaded slopes dry avalanches can be triggered in the new snow and wind slab layers. The fresh snow and the wind slabs that are forming especially adjacent to ridgelines and in gullies and bowls can be released by a single winter sport participant.
