Avalanche Activity

New snow represents the main danger.

In gullies and bowls, and behind abrupt changes in the terrain slab avalanches are possible, even medium-sized ones. They can be released, mostly by large loads. On steep slopes loose snow avalanches are possible, but they can reach medium size in isolated cases. In addition ground avalanches are possible.

Snowpack Structure

A lot of snow has fallen. Outgoing longwave radiation during the night was good over a wide area. The weather will be mild. These weather conditions will give rise to gradual consolidation of the snowpack in particular at intermediate altitudes. The snowpack will become in most cases favourable.
