Avalanche Activity

The avalanche prone locations are to be found on very steep slopes above approximately 2700 m.

In the last few days visible wind slabs formed in particular above approximately 2700 m. These can in some places be released by small loads, but they will be small in most cases, in particular adjacent to ridgelines and in pass areas at high altitudes and in high Alpine regions. They are to be evaluated with care and prudence in terrain where there is a danger of falling. On extremely steep slopes and at the base of rock walls mostly small natural dry avalanches are possible. In steep terrain there is a danger of falling on the hard snow surface.

Snowpack Structure

The new snow of the last few days has bonded quite well with the old snowpack in all aspects. The old snowpack is largely stable. Less snow than usual is lying. The snowpack will be generally subject to considerable local variations.

Tendency

The avalanche danger will persist.
