In sintesi

Another night of above freezing temperatures and expected highs in the 50s will weaken the snowpack. Wet snow avalanches will become possible at mid and upper elevations with warming. Non-supportable crusts are a good indication that it is time to get off steep slopes. At the lower elevations the snowpack is limited to areas of shallow patchy snow. Dine with a friend tonight at the Bistro or Q Roadhouse. Proceeds from special menu options will go to the Bridger-Teton Avalanche Center.

Avalanche Discussion

The recent period of above average temperatures is to end as a moist unstable air mass brings precipitation and colder temperatures to the area. Periods of snow are expected during the night and through Thursday. A mix of snow and rain is likely at the lower elevations. Highs in the mountains are to be in the upper twenties to low thirties with highs in the valleys to reach near forty degrees. Summit winds will veer to the West during the day and increase to averages of twenty to twenty five miles per hour in the afternoon. The avalanche hazard will be LOW. As new wet snow accumulates at the higher elevations, shallow loose snow sluffs may become possible in very steep terrain during the afternoon.
