In sintesi

The general avalanche hazard is MODERATE. Recent snow and strong winds have formed surface slabs in steep wind loaded avalanche terrain. Skiers and riders have the potential to trigger pockets of these slabs today to depths of two feet, particularly in higher terrain where the most wind loading has occurred. While many slopes can be tracked without incident, watch for warning signs such recent activity or wind loading and follow safe techniques including never putting more than one person on a slope at any time.

Avalanche Discussion

( Discussion is generated from the previous day's afternoon forecast. )Snow showers are to move in overnight and increase on Thursday as the first wave of the next low pressure system impacts the area. Southwest winds are to increase to averages near twenty miles per hour during the day and temperatures should rise into the mid twenties. The general avalanche hazard is expected to be Moderate throughout the higher elevations of Western Wyoming. Backcountry riders and skiers will have the potential to trigger pockets of soft slabs to depths of two feet in steep wind loaded avalanche terrain.
