In sintesi

An early season snowpack comprised mainly of faceted snow and hard crusts exists. Avalanches are unlikely at this time with the exception of surface sluffs in very steep terrain above 9000 feet.

Avalanche Discussion

Inverted temperatures will continue with overnight lows in the mountains near 20 before rising to near 30 during the day. The valleys will dip into the single digits and then climb to around 20 in the afternoon. Skies will be mostly clear over possible morning valley fog. Westerly to northwesterly ridgetop winds will range from 10 to 20 miles per hour. The general avalanche hazard is expected to be LOW at all elevations on Sunday. Backcountry travelers might be able to trigger isolated pockets of shallow wind slab in very steep terrain near upper elevation ridgelines. Elsewhere the early season, faceted snowpack is mostly stable and avalanches are unlikely.
