In sintesi

Little overnight accumulation has resulted in LOW avalanche danger at all elevations today. Shallow sensitive surface slabs formed during yesterdays snows will be easily triggered at the mid and upper elevations on steep terrain where they lie upon hard crusts and wind packed snow yet these slabs will be small in size. Avoid terrain traps and exposed areas where small amounts of moving snow could still have high consequences.

The ridge centered over the western U.S. will begin to break down tonight with moisture moving in bringing two inches of snowfall to the mountains tonight (Tuesday) and overnight lows in the low twenties. Wednesday the westerly flow will bring another two inches and high temperatures near freezing. West winds will be in the 25 to 30 mph range with higher gusts.AVALANCHE HAZARD FOR THE TETON AREAThe general avalanche hazard is expected to stay in the LOW range Wednesday barring above forecasted snow or wind. Shallow but sensitive surface slabs may be triggered on steep slopes but are not likely to be dangerous unless a traveller is caught in a terrain trap or pushed over hazardous terrrain. Check the morning advisory to recieve the most recent and accurate weather and avalanche information. AVALANCHE HAZARD FOR THE TOGWOTEE PASS/CONTINENTAL DIVIDE AND GREYS RIVER/SOUTHWEST TRAILS AREASThe general avalanche hazard is expected to remain MODERATE. Sensitive new surface slabs are forming on a variety of weak layers. These generally shallow slabs or sloughs could be easily triggered Wednesday and the potential to trigger larger avalanches involving deeper weak layers in the snowpack also exists. Backcountry users are advised to consult area specific forecasts issued every morning as new information may become available and unexpected weather can change conditions.
