Snow depths range from 8 to 18 inches above an elevation of 8,500 feet where the general avalanche hazard is LOW. The snow is mostly stable, however caution is advised in steep terrain as even a small slab avalanche can cause serious injury in these early season conditions. Snow cover diminishes to depths of less than six inches and areas of bare ground at the lower elevations.
