Wind-drifted features in the alpine and stiffer slabs near treeline on north to east to southeast-facing slopes are potential places you can trigger an avalanche. The snowpack is slowly healing, but it will take time for the problem to go dormant. Look for smooth, rounded drifts below ridges or the sides of steep gullies as features to avoid. Be heads up if you transition from soft unconsolidated snow to harder, more supportable snow. You might be climbing on a dangerous, lingering slab.
