Avalanche Summary

The most likely spots to trigger a more dangerous avalanche are wind-drifted features on leeward-facing slopes at upper elevations. Previous westerly winds and ample snow have created thick slabs that could entrain enough snow to bury you or take you for a dangerous ride. New snow Saturday will not be enough to raise the avalanche danger, but may make previously drifted areas challenging to identify. Drifted snow is commonly found below ridges or the sides of cross-loaded gullies. You can find safer travel on slopes less than about 35 degrees steep.
