In sintesi

In the past week 40 to 60 inches of new snow with a moisture content of 4.5 to 7 inches of water have fallen in the Tetons. Strong winds have formed DANGEROUS slabs up to five feet in depth at the mid and upper elevations. Yesterday a large slab avalanche ran full path off of Mt. Hunt into Granite Canyon. Several large avalanches are also believed to have run full track on the east face of Teewinot Mountain yesterday morning. Today similar slabs await human triggers and have some potential to release naturally if significant warming occurs. At the lower elevations avalanches are unlikely except in isolated pockets or in the runout zones of major avalanche paths. Numerous close calls and one avalanche fatality have occured since last Thursday.
