Forecast Snow Stability: Little change. The fragmented wet snowpack will continue to thaw at all levels and will have good stability throughout. Most snow will remain on high North to East aspects, on ridge flanks, round coire rims and in gullies and runnels. Elsewhere, it will be patchy with little snow below 600 metres. The avalanche hazard will be Low.
Snowpack Structure
Forecast Weather Influences: The mild, moist and strong South-West airflow will persist throughout the period with summit gales and patchy light rain at all levels. The freezing level will be well above the summits. Observed Weather Influences: A day of patchy light rain and summit cloud. Unseasonably mild with an air temperature of plus 3C on the highest summits. There is a persistent strong South-West airflow with summit gales. ObservedSnowStability: The snowpack is thawing and wet at all levels and has generally good stability throughout. Most snow remains on high North to East aspects where it gains depth on ridge flanks, round coire rims and in gullies and runnels. Elsewhere, it is patchy with little snow below 600 metres. The avalanche hazard is Low.
