Forecast Snow Stability: Wet snow instabilities will continue to affect steep and convex West through North to East aspects above 900 metres. On these aspects cornice collapse will be a significant hazard. Elsewhere the snowpack will be soft thawing and generally stable. The avalanche hazard will be Moderate.

Forecast Weather Influences: Storm force winds will back from the South to become South-Easterly in direction. Rain at all levels from the middle of the night onwards, this will turn to sleet and snow at summit levels through the afternoon. A brief cooler period overnight before the freezing level rises above the summits again during the early hours. Observed Weather Influences: A mild day with rain at all levels. Gale force Southerly winds. The freezing level was just above the summits. ObservedSnowStability: The snowpack is soft and thawing at all altitudes. Accumulations of moderately bonded windslab remain on steep wind sheltered West through North to East aspects above 900 metres. Unstable cornices overhang these areas. Wet snow instabilities and debris from recent avalanche activity was observed on Northerly aspects at 1000 metres. The avalanche hazard is Moderate.
