Snowpack Structure

Less snow than usual is lying. On sunny slopes below approximately 2600 m from a snow sport perspective, insufficient snow is lying. The conditions below approximately 3000 m are spring-like, in particular on very steep sunny slopes. In the last few days hardly any more avalanches occurred naturally.

Tendency

The avalanche danger will persist. As the temperature drops hardly any more moist and wet avalanches are to be expected.

Avalanche Activity

Increase in danger of dry avalanches as a consequence of new snow and wind.

2 to 10 cm of snow will fall above approximately 2200 m, this applies during the course of the night. In the course of the day rather small wind slabs will form in particular at elevated altitudes. They represent the main danger. The fresh wind slabs can in isolated cases be released by a single winter sport participant, but they will be small in most cases. Restraint should be exercised because avalanches can sweep people along and give rise to falls. Small natural avalanches are possible.
