In starting zones where no previous releases have taken place and on very steep sunny slopes medium-sized wet avalanches are possible as the day progresses as a consequence of warming during the day and solar radiation. On very steep sunny slopes the likelihood of avalanches will increase during the day. Gliding avalanches can be released at any time of day or night, in particular on extremely steep grassy slopes below approximately 2700 m. Areas with glide cracks are to be avoided as far as possible. As a consequence of highly fluctuating temperatures the snow drift accumulations stabilised. The large quantity of fresh snow of last week and very particularly the wind slabs can be released, especially by large additional loads,, in particular at transitions from a shallow to a deep snowpack, when entering gullies and bowls for example in particular in high Alpine regions.
Sunshine and high temperatures will give rise on Tuesday to increasing moistening of the snowpack in particular on very steep sunny slopes in particular at low and intermediate altitudes. The various wind slabs have bonded generally well with the old snowpack. Isolated small and medium-sized slab avalanches have been released by people in the last few days. As a consequence of highly fluctuating temperatures and solar radiation a crust formed on the surface, in particular below approximately 2300 m on very steep sunny slopes. In all aspects snow depths vary greatly above approximately 2400 m, depending on the infuence of the wind. Adjacent to ridgelines and in pass areas and at high altitude a little snow is lying.
In the afternoon as the temperature drops there will be only a very slight increase in the danger of wet avalanches. As a consequence of highly fluctuating temperatures the snow drift accumulations will stabilise.
