In sintesi

The snowpack will be in most cases stable.

Avalanche Activity

The snowpack will be in most cases stable.

In steep terrain there is a danger of falling on the hard snow surface. Individual avalanche prone locations for dry avalanches are to be found on extreme slopes. These places are rare and are difficult to recognise. In the last few days hardly any more avalanches were observed.

Snowpack Structure

Less snow than usual is lying, especially on steep southeast, south and southwest facing slopes below approximately 2600 m. The snowpack will be generally subject to considerable local variations. As a consequence of highly fluctuating temperatures a crust formed on the surface during the last few days, not only on sunny slopes, including on shady slopes below approximately 2100 m. The surface of the snowpack will soften during the day. Intermediate and high altitudes, steep shady slopes: Towards its base, the snowpack is faceted.

Tendency

The avalanche danger will persist.
