Forecast Snow Stability: Fragile cornices will be prone to collapse on North-East through East to South aspects above 800 metres. Weakly bonded windslab will also persist on these aspects. Areas most affected will be where deep accumulations exist on on steep terrain, such as gully tops, crag aprons and coire rims. Avalanches are likely. Below this altitude isolated areas of windslab will begin to improve in stability. The avalanche hazard will be Considerable.

Forecast Weather Influences: Southerly winds will steadily increase overnight to be very strong through the day. The freezing level will rise above the summits during the morning and remain there throughout. Small amounts of rain are expected during the day. Observed Weather Influences: A clear and sunny winter day with light variable winds and the freezing level around 200 metres. ObservedSnowStability: Widespread accumulations of weakly bonded windslab are present on North-East through East to South aspects above 800 metres. Large weak cornices are present above these aspects. Below 800 metres isolated areas of windslab exist in wind sheltered locations such as gully features and steep banks.
