In sintesi

The danger level for Douglas remains at low with no significant changes in weather overnight.  No recent avalanches have been observed or reported recently and should continue to be the case today. Continue to practice good travel habits and watch for signs of of old wind slab like shooting cracks, hollow sounding snow, or fat looking pockets.

Avalanche Discussion

We are in the last couple days of this very extended cold snap with no accumulation in over two weeks. Things remain generally unreactive for today and likely into tomorrow.  Cloud cover today should limit solar warming and wet loose activity. Warming temps and precipitation should return to the region within the next couple days bringing changes to the snowpack.  We have quite a variety of surface snow conditions that a new snow load will sit on top of as well  multiple potential weak layers within the snowpack.  Watch for signs of instability in this coming week as precip returns, and continue to post your observations.
