Snowpack Structure

Sunshine and high temperatures will give rise from late morning to a loss of strength within the snowpack over a wide area in particular on steep sunny slopes above approximately 1600 m.

Avalanche Activity

As a consequence of warming, the natural avalanche activity will gradually increase.

Outgoing longwave radiation during the night will be quite good. As a consequence of warming during the day, the likelihood of natural wet avalanches being released will increase gradually in particular on steep southeast and southwest facing slopes at intermediate altitudes. The sometimes large wind slabs of last week must be evaluated with care and prudence in particular on steep shady slopes above approximately 3000 m.
