In sintesi

Any avalanche problems from our last storm, have since subsided and I am not expecting it to be warm enough on Friday to produce wet loose avalanches. Remember, low danger does not mean no danger. Watch for isolated pockets of unstable snow, especially in extreme terrain.

Avalanche Discussion

Snowpack depth is pretty good for this time of year. I have been measuring 120 cm to 150 cm throughout the Central Cascades zone. Our snowpack is generally showing  good structure in the mid and deep pack. 

Several weak layers have been spotted in the upper pack, most notable are a layer of buried surface hoar found at Todd Lake on east and north aspects  and multiple layers of poorly developed faceted snow in open alpine terrain on north and east aspects. There has been no avalanche activity on these layers and snowpack testing suggest they are stubborn. They will not likely come into play unless they stick around long enough to get loaded by a significant amount of new snow.  That could be a while as we are in a period of high pressure.

No recent avalanche activity has been reported.
