Forecast Snow Stability: Deep weakly bonded windslab will develop on West to North aspects above 900 metres where avalanches will occur. Moderately to weakly bonded accumulations will also be present above 800 metres in wind sheltered locations on South-West, North-East and East aspects. Unstable cornices will also continue to develop. The avalanche hazard will be High.

Forecast Weather Influences: Overnight the freezing level will be around 600 metres but rising to 800 metres during the day. Significant heavy snowfall throughout this period, heaviest overnight. Strong East-South-East gale force winds, easing very slightly during the day. Observed Weather Influences: Very wet with significant rainfall. This started to turn to snow above 500 metres, becoming drier with drifting around 900 metres. East-South-East winds, storm force for most of this period. ObservedSnowStability: Heavy snowfall with drifting have formed unstable windslab mainly above 900 metres in wind sheltered locations on West to North aspects above 900 metres, South-West and North-East aspects have also been affected by cross-loading. Corrie rims, gully tops and steep, scarp slopes mostly affected. Unstable accumulations have also formed in other steep lee locations below this altitude. The avalanche hazard is Considerable.
