Avalanche Activity

Forecast Snow Stability: The firm snowpack will continue to slowly soften, at all but the highest elevations which will remain mainly firm and frozen. Stability will remain generally good in all locations. Largest continuous snow areas will be on North-West through North to East aspects above around 870 metres. The avalanche hazard will be Low.

Snowpack Structure

Forecast Weather Influences: Continuing mainly dry through the period with fresh to strong Southerly winds. Rain late in the day with the freezing level remaining above the summits. Observed Weather Influences: Dry and generally bright with some sunshine, persistently cloudy over the highest summits. Feeling cold with moderate to fresh South-Easterly winds and the freezing level slowly rising above the summits. ObservedSnowStability: Little to no change from yesterday. The snowpack has remained mainly frozen, firm and stable. Small pockets of yesterday\'s new snow have gathered behind rocks and boulders in wind sheltered locations but amounts are not significant. Largest continuous snow areas remain on North-West through North to East aspects above around 870 metres. The avalanche hazard is Low.
