Avalanche Activity

The new snow and wind slabs represent the main danger.

The new snow of the last three days represents the main danger. This snow can be released easily or naturally in all aspects above the tree line. The new snow can be released by a single winter sport participant in all aspects above the tree line. Below approximately 2200 m small and, in isolated cases, medium-sized moist and wet avalanches are possible. Especially at the base of rock walls and behind abrupt changes in the terrain small and, in isolated cases, medium-sized dry and moist avalanches are possible.

Snowpack Structure

Over a wide area 20 to 40 cm of snow has fallen since Friday above approximately 2000 m. The sometimes strong wind has transported the new snow. The fresh wind slabs are barely recognisable because of the poor visibility. The covering of new snow is moist.
