In some localities light snowfall above the tree line. This applies in particular in the regions of the north exposed to the foehn wind as well as along the border with France, along the border with Switzerland. Since Tuesday small wind slabs formed adjacent to ridgelines and in gullies and bowls as well as at high altitude. On Wednesday these will increase in size moderately. They can be released, even by a single winter sport participant, especially on very steep slopes. Even a small avalanche can sweep people along and give rise to falls. Loose snow avalanches are possible as the day progresses, but they will be mostly small. This applies in particular on extremely steep slopes.

Monday: The weather conditions gave rise to consolidation of the old snowpack in all aspects. Gradual decrease in danger of moist and wet avalanches. Towards its surface, the snowpack is hard and its surface has a strong melt-freeze crust. The surface of the snowpack has frozen to form a strong crust and will soften later than the day before. Above approximately 2300 m a lot of snow is lying.

Light snowfall. The sometimes storm force wind will transport the new snow. The fresh snow as well as the resulting wind slabs are bonding poorly with the old snowpack.
