Most slopes are safe from avalanches on Wednesday. The few slopes where you might still be able to trigger a slab avalanche are where you encounter a cohesive slab of firm, wind-drifted snow just below ridgelines facing east directions, typically around 11,500 to 12,500 feet. A few inches of new snow will not change the avalanche danger, but it will cover old snow surfaces, making it difficult to identify where old, wind-drifted snow exists, so approach most east-facing slopes at upper elevations with some caution.
Expect the danger to increase on Thursday.
