In sintesi

The General Avalanche Hazard is LOW. The snowpack is mostly stable but isolated pockets of soft slabs could lurk in the highest, steeper terrain.

Avalanche Discussion

( Discussion is generated from the previous day's afternoon forecast. ) The cold, unstable airmass over the region will produce only one to two inches of snow tonight then become more stable with decreasing snow through Wednesday. Temperatures will be cold with lows tonight of ten below and highs Wednesday around zero degrees f. The General Avalanche Hazard for the Teton area will remain at CONSIDERABLE for upper elevations and fall to MODERATE at Mid elevations. Time and cold temperatures will reduce the hazard but the light density snow will be easily transported to lee slopes near ridgecrests. These conditions will continue the possiblility of releasing soft slabs to two feet in depth in those areas. At Low elevations the Hazard will remain at LOW due to the shallowness of the snowpack. The General Avalanche Hazard will remain at LOW in the Togwotee Pass and Greys River regions.
