In sintesi

The General Avalanche Hazard is CONSIDERABLE. Dangerous unstable slabs exist. Yesterday a skier triggered a three-foot deep hard slab on a northeast aspect of Angle Mountain at an elevation of 9,600 feet. In the Gros Ventre Range east of Jackson a skier was injured after being swept through trees in an avalanche he triggered while ascending a southwest aspect of Cache Peak. Three snowmobilers were deeply buried by a large avalanche and died in the Cottonwood Creek drainage southeast of Afton in the Salt River Range. Deep hard and soft slabs lie upon a weak base of faceted snow and are likely to be easily triggered by humans who venture into avalanche terrain. The potential to trigger these dangerous slides will increase as the day warms.
