Air temperatures are 9 to 14 degrees warmer than there were yesterday morning. At the upper elevations pockets of wind slab up to a foot in depth could be triggered by skiers and riders in steep wind loaded avalanche starting zones. These slabs will become more sensitive to human triggers as the day warms. Sunshine and temperatures in the 40s will also increase the potential for wet snow avalanches to occur on very steep sunlit slopes and cliff areas. Significant warming is likely to occur before noon. Monitor conditions and be aware of the increasing hazard. This is the last morning avalanche hazard bulletin of the 2016/17 season. The center will continue to operate remote weather stations and post daily summaries of that data.
