In sintesi

Spring-like weather will form wet snow on sunny slopes again today. While larger wet loose avalanches should remain unlikely, rollerballs, pinwheels, and shallow wet snow sluffs could occur on steep slopes. Exercise caution if traveling in steep terrain where wet snow is present.

    Even though temperatures remained near or above freezing last night, the snowpack likely radiated enough heat into the night sky for some of yesterday's wet snow to refreeze. As the day warms up, this refreeze will melt and wet snow will form on the surface. Some rollerballs, pinwheels, and small sluffs of loose wet snow could occur on steep sunny slopes, but stronger E-NE winds and good drainage developed during this and previous melt-freeze cycles should help limit the size of any wet snow instabilities.

    Small sluffs of wet snow might still knock a person off balance or alter an intended travel path. Use caution if traveling in places where small wet loose avalanches might push you into terrain traps such as rocks, trees, or over cliffs.

    Ski cuts triggered small, shallow, sluffs of wet loose snow on steep sunny slopes around Incline Lake Peak (Mt. Rose backcountry). While these remained small, they could still push someone into an obstacle like the trees in this photo.
