In sintesi

Triggering avalanches in wind drifted snow will be possible at upper elevations on a viariety of aspects. Most avalanches will be small, but remember small avalanches can lead to higher consequences in sustained steep terrain and above terrain traps such as cliffs, rocks, and trees. If you have uncertainty about the stability of the snowpack, avoid slopes that have accumulated wind blown snow by sticking to sheltered areas or choose lower angle terrain less than 30 degrees steep.

    Winds slabs will be possible at the upper elevations above treeline. Near treeline they will be unlikely, but still something to keep an eye on. Existing wind slabs have had a few days to adjust and will be trending to be hard to trigger but still possible in isolated terrain. If you are travelling into the high alpine terrain, take some time to check on depth and reactivity of wind slabs before committing to start zones in steep and consequential terrain. The melt freeze crust formed during the sunny period last week will serve as a good reference point to monitor the depth of wind slabs.

Avalanche Discussion

Be cautious when approacing ridgetops. Stepping out onto a cornice could cause it to collapse and result in a fall onto the slope below.
