In sintesi

Avalanches are unlikely on Sunday. The greatest hazard is firm and variable snow, as well as thin coverage on sunny slopes and at lower elevations.

Avalanche Discussion

Our weather has remained relatively unchanged for the past week, and our avalanche hazard has also remained low. Snow surfaces vary widely. Solar aspects are firm and crusty, and have not really been softening too much in recent days. Meanwhile, the wind has created firm, bumpy, and textured surfaces across many north- and east-facing slopes. While soft snow can still be found on terrain that's been sheltered from the sun and wind, continuous soft and smooth snow is getting harder to find. Nevertheless, conditions have been pleasant in the mountains if you don't mind the variable surfaces.

On Sunday, be prepared for firm snow on any aspect, especially in the alpine. Additionally, keep an eye out for thinly covered rocks, especially on aspects that have been getting the sun.
