In sintesi

New snow from the last few days has formed soft slabs to three feet in depth on most avalanche terrain at mid and upper elevations. These slabs lie on weak layers that range from faceted snow on northerly aspects to hard crusts on southerly aspects. Backcountry users could trigger these slabs today on steep terrain in avalanche paths on a variety of aspects which could result in fatalities. Yesterday, both natural and human triggered slab avalanches from one to four feet in depth were reported from The Great White Hump and the Chicken Scratch Chute off of Teton Pass as well as Rock Springs, Pucker Face and No Name Peak near the Jackson Hole Ski Area. At low elavations, isolated pockets of slab to a foot in depth could be triggered on steep snow loaded areas such as steep walled gullies.
