These slabs lie upon persistent weak layers and could release after a slope has been lightly tracked. Below 7500 feet, hazard is Low and avalanche activity is unlikely except for in isolated pockets.

    Dense surface slabs with depths of one to two feet lie upon well-developed surface hoar. While these persistent slabs are gaining strength and becoming more difficult to trigger, a variety of aspects remain susceptible to human triggers. In isolated areas in north facing terrain, these slabs have some potential to step down to deeper layers of faceted snow with depths to three feet.

( Discussion is generated from the previous day's afternoon forecast. )Increasing clouds are expected Saturday as another weak system arrives which is to bring limited moisture to the area. A trace to two inches of accumulation is expected. Temperatures are to rise into the mid twenties. Northwest winds are to have 15-25 mile per hour averages.The general avalanche hazard is to remain Moderate above 7500 feet where human triggered slabs remain possible on a variety of aspects. These persistent slabs could have depths of six inches to two feet. Avalanches below 7500 feet are not expected.
