The General Avalanche Hazard is MODERATE. Soft slabs to one foot in depth could be triggered on steep, wind-loaded slopes. Deeper hard slabs, 2 to 4 feet in depth persist. More substantial triggers such as snowmobiles, large groups, or surface slides may be needed to initiate these hard slabs.

Winds will be west to southwesterly at 15 to 20 miles per hour on the ridge tops. 9500 foot temperatures will rise from near zero in the morning to ten degrees by afternoon.Wind slabs to two feet in depth could be triggered in lee areas at mid and upper elevations in the Tetons and Greys River regions. The slides may need a second or later person to initiate. Deeper slabs 3 to 5 feet deep on easterly to northerly aspects continue to demand concern. Most of these deeper slabs have been on steep, convex slopes with good wind loading and run off from cliffs or gullies above. These deep slabs could occur on a wider variety of aspects in the Continental Divide/Togwotee Pass area where the snowpack is shallower. The General Avalanche Danger is forecasted to be MODERATE on Wednesday.
