Salt River and Wyoming Ranges

The general avalanche hazard is MODERATE. Recent snow and wind have formed surface slabs that vary in hardness to depths of up to three feet. These slabs lie upon crusts and faceted snow and although they have gained strength over the last few days, backcountry enthusiasts could trigger pockets of these slabs in steep avalanche terrain today, particularly in the afternoon when sunlight and warming weaken the snow surface.
