In sintesi

The general avalanche hazard is MODERATE today. Surface slabs up to 18 inches in depth lie upon a basal layer of weak faceted snow. Todays winds and new snow will add an additional load to these slabs making them easier to trigger. They could be triggered on steep wind loaded avalanche prone slopes possibly by a single skier but more likely by larger triggers such as snowmachines. Once triggered these slabs have potential to step down into the weaker basal layers of the snowpack or the ground and release large hard slabs. The greatest hazard is to highmaking snowmobilers in very steep extreme terrain.
