Low hazard. Localised instability. New weak windslab possible on W to N aspects above 950m.
Low hazard. Localised instability. New weak windslab possible on W to N aspects above 950m.
Forecast Snow Stability: Good stability in most locations. Redistribution of snow may add new weak windslab on to steep West to North aspects above 950 metres, though this is expected to be confined to coire rims and gully exits. Minor pre-existing cold induced instabilities will remain on selected steep North to East aspects above 1000 metres. The avalanche hazard will be Low.
Forecast Weather Influences: No precipitation is forecast. Remaining cold. Moderate to strong East-South-East later South-East winds. Observed Weather Influences: Cold with light overnight snow showers which extended into the morning. Light to moderate East-South-East winds throughout. ObservedSnowStability: Stability is good in most locations. Some localised near surface instabilities persist in older snow mainly on North to East aspects above 1000 metres. Also, new thin weakly bonded windslab on steep West to North aspects above 950 metres: Build up here not yet extensive and confined to coire rims and gully tops. The avalanche hazard is Low.
