The fresh snow and the wind slabs must be evaluated with care and prudence above approximately 1800 m.
The fresh snow as well as the wind slabs must be evaluated with care and prudence in particular on steep north facing slopes above approximately 1800 m. The avalanche prone locations are to be found adjacent to ridgelines and in gullies and bowls and at transitions from a shallow to a deep snowpack. They can be released, especially by large additional loads,. Small to medium-sized avalanches are possible. To some extent avalanches can also penetrate down to the ground.
In some cases the various wind slabs have bonded still only poorly with each other and the old snowpack. Also places where weaknesses exist in the old snowpack are unfavourable.
As a consequence of the wind the wind slabs will increase in size additionally.
